Obstacle racing team event takes Novacroft’s fun-loving culture to a very muddy new extreme!
Novacroft’s team has raised £3995 for company Charities of the Year Macmillan Cancer Support (Northants) and KidsAid, following a gruelling, wet and mud-caked morning at the ROCKSOLID race in Silverstone Woodlands, Milton Keynes on Saturday 19th September.
Thirteen ambitious Novacroft runners were inspired to tackle 5k, 10k and 15k runs, each with their own muddy challenges, from jumping into icy water to paddling dinghies across rivers without paddles.
ROCKSOLID offers world class obstacle racing events aiming to inspire a variety of fitness and age groups to #beMORE, to challenge themselves to be the absolute best, to be bolder, braver and stronger.
15k racer and Contact Centre Team Leader Adam Gordon said after the race:
Wow. It was emotional, it was epic – a fantastic experience, and the most satisfying thing? We all did it together, all of us that aren’t regular runners, we stuck together and we made it to the end!
Claire Archer, Contact Centre Advisor, who also took the 15k challenge, added, several days after the race:
I think there’s still mud in my ears! The mud was everywhere, I was covered, but I loved it. And I did it with two broken ribs – if I can do it, anyone can do it – I can’t wait until next year!
Ashley Jardine, ROCKSOLID founder, commented:
WOW WOW and WOW! Awesome…superb fundraising! Glad you guys had fun and you’re making a difference for others too.’
